ARS National Services, Inc. is proud to be a leader in the credit card recovery market. Headquartered in Escondido, California, the company was founded in April 1992 and is one of the largest and most successful collections companies nationwide. ARS currently operates four call centers around the country. They are positioned to grow continuously with their existing business partners, as well as strategically positioned to react to opportunities that present themselves in current and new markets.

Challenge: Discuss new options for collecting time

With 650 employees at four locations, ARS National was spending too much time manually adding up timesheets for hundreds of employees in order to process payroll. Mistakes were bound to happen. Also, payroll expenses were huge, with some of the total cost attributed to overpaying employees and having to cut manual checks.

"To manually process timecards was not feasible because ARS National was growing and we had over 500 employees at the time of conversion. To collect and enter timecards individually, and by hand, was inefficient and time-consuming," explains Lydia Lee, Payroll/HRIS Manager. ARS needed a more effective way to track their employees and a better method to ensure that employee paychecks were more accurate.

Solution: Real-time data collection with Stromberg Enterprise and ADP Payroll

ARS National selected Stromberg for its strong support, product functionality, and service. They implemented both Stromberg Enterprise and ADP to have a complete HRIS system in place to support their growth.

With Stromberg Enterprise, ARS was able to make payroll processing more accurate and efficient, and the system provided easy access for supervisors to manage their employees’ working hours. Each manager was able to view, edit, and approve their employee timecards in a timely manner.

The tools needed for better control

"Our multi-state workforce consists mainly of hourly employees. Stromberg has helped manage overtime and attendance, saved payroll processing time, and provided more accurate data," according to Lee. With the more accurate time data for their employees, ARS was able to to reduce costs, save time, and obtain better control over their payroll costs.

ARS makes good use of the Stromberg Enterprise product functionality. Lee explained, "We use the eTimeclock and eSupervisor features the most. I am also looking into adding eKiosk, which allows employees to view PTO balances, timecard history, and schedules. This will give employees increased access to their information and reduce the number of inquiries to the payroll and HR departments."
